ABOUT US

HOW MILINES CAME TO BE?

The brand MILINES was born in 2015 with the goal of bringing visibility to the culture of our country and creating opportunities for the local workforce in the Colombian Caribbean.

Our first collection featured handmade gladiator sandals, decorated with Wayuu crafts (pompons and tassels), Caribbean-region gemstones, love, and attention to every detail. These designs allowed us to expand into markets in Mexico and Panama.

Over the years, MILINES evolved into other styles such as espadrilles, heels, and platforms, opening up new markets in Latin America.

Thanks to our commitment, we have found a balance between sustainability and social responsibility, using eco-friendly materials and supporting artisanal craftsmanship, creating a brand with a social and cultural purpose.

RINA ARRIETA

Founder of the brand MILINES. She was born in San Pedro Sucre, in the Colombian Caribbean. She is the second of three sisters, and her parents say that since she was a child, she was always very creative, passionate about the arts, and everything related to handicrafts.

Shortly after graduating as a Certified Public Accountant at just 22 years old, she discovered what would become her true vocation through the entrepreneurial venture of the MILINES brand, designing footwear for women.

With her brand MILINES, Rina has set the goal of conquering new markets that will allow her to showcase the hard-working hands of Colombian artisans and strengthen the use of environmentally friendly materials, offering high-quality designs that tell stories with every step.
